Latitud™ Femoral Head

A modular cobalt-chromium femoral head designed to provide multiple diameter and offset options for hip reconstruction.

The Latitud™ Femoral Head is a modular component intended for use in hip arthroplasty with compatible femoral stems featuring a 12/14 taper connection.

Manufactured from cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy, the component is available in a range of head diameters and offsets, allowing the surgeon to adapt femoral head size and neck length to the requirements of the reconstruction.

Depending on the selected hip construct, the femoral head is designed to articulate with compatible modular acetabular liners or dedicated bipolar monoblock shells.

The system

Modular head options for adaptable hip reconstruction

The modular femoral head is manufactured from wrought cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy intended for surgical implant applications.

A 12/14 internal taper allows the head to connect to compatible cemented or cementless femoral stems. This modular interface enables head selection to be adapted independently from the implanted stem within the compatible system.

Head diameters range from 22 mm to 40 mm, with several available neck-length offsets. These combinations provide options for adjusting parameters such as reconstructed neck length, soft-tissue tension and overall hip geometry.

The femoral head can be used as part of a total hip construct with a compatible modular liner or in compatible bipolar configurations using a dedicated monoblock shell.

Indication

Hip replacement

Hip arthroplasty replaces damaged structures of the hip joint with prosthetic components in order to restore joint function and reduce pain.

Within the reconstructed joint, the modular femoral head is connected to the femoral stem and provides the articulating spherical surface of the femoral component.

Total hip replacement may be considered when significant hip pain and functional impairment persist despite appropriate non-operative treatment. Component selection and final use must follow the applicable Instructions for Use, approved indications and local regulatory requirements.
