Orthopedics — Total Hip Replacement

Latitud™ Cemented Femoral Stem

A highly polished cemented femoral stem designed for controlled load transfer and adaptable reconstruction.

The Latitud™ Cemented Femoral Stem is designed for use with bone cement in total hip replacement. Manufactured from high-nitrogen stainless steel, the stem combines a highly polished surface with a double-tapered, collarless geometry.

Its 12/14 male taper provides the connection to a compatible modular femoral head, while multiple stem sizes and neck-offset configurations allow the implant to accommodate different femoral anatomies.

Latitud Cemented Femoral Stem

The system

A polished double-tapered stem engineered for cemented fixation

The femoral stem is manufactured from wrought high-nitrogen stainless steel and is intended exclusively for cemented fixation.

Its highly polished surface and double-tapered, collarless profile are designed to work together with the surrounding cement mantle. The geometry allows load to be transferred through the cement while avoiding a fixed collar at the proximal femur.

A standard 12/14 male trunnion connects the stem to a compatible modular femoral head. The implant is offered in standard and narrow-offset configurations to provide options for restoring femoral geometry.

Key Features

Design characteristics focused on fit, cement mechanics and anatomical versatility

The stem combines an anatomical profile, polished surface and cement-oriented geometry with multiple offset options to address different reconstruction requirements in cemented hip arthroplasty.

Anatomical stem profile

The stem profile is shaped to accommodate the prepared femoral canal and provide a consistent relationship between implant geometry, cement mantle and surrounding bone.

Highly polished surface

The highly polished metallic surface provides a smooth interface between the stem and the surrounding cement mantle, consistent with polished cemented-stem principles.

Cement-oriented geometry

The collarless double-tapered profile is designed to distribute forces through the cement mantle and limit localized stress concentration within the cemented construct.

Multiple offset options

Standard and narrow-offset configurations provide options for matching different femoral anatomies and for restoring appropriate hip geometry during reconstruction.

Modular reconstruction compatibility

The 12/14 trunnion allows connection to compatible modular femoral heads, supporting integration of the stem within a total hip replacement construct.

Indication

Cemented total hip replacement

Total hip replacement is used to reconstruct a hip joint affected by severe structural deterioration when symptoms such as pain and loss of mobility can no longer be adequately controlled with appropriate non-operative treatment.

A cemented femoral component is fixed within the prepared femoral canal using bone cement. Selection of cemented fixation depends on patient anatomy, bone quality, clinical requirements and the surgeon’s assessment.

Final use of the implant must follow the applicable Instructions for Use, approved indications and local regulatory requirements.
