PRP and shock-wave therapy for lateral epicondylitis

A sham-controlled trial compared three groups of patients with lateral epicondylitis. After 12 weeks, the combination of PRP, shock-wave therapy and exercise achieved better clinical outcomes for pain, function and grip strength; ultrasonographic parameters did not differ between the groups.

Comparison of Exomine, T‑LAB PRP and Arthrex ACP

A skeletal-muscle injury model in 28 rabbits directly compared Exomine®, T‑LAB PRP®, Arthrex ACP® and a control group. T‑LAB and Arthrex achieved comparable, approximately 2.5- to 3-fold platelet enrichment with no statistically significant difference. Exomine showed a more favourable histological profile of inflammation and scarring, but the results are preclinical and require clinical confirmation.

PRP, exercise or combination therapy for knee osteoarthritis

Three groups compared PRP, supervised exercise and their combination in mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis. The registered randomised study monitored pain and function.

Factors influencing PRP properties

In 62 patients with knee osteoarthritis, preparation with the T‑LAB system achieved a dose of 3.25 billion platelets, 77% recovery and 98.4% PRP purity (DEPA classification B-B-A). The study also analysed the influence of baseline platelet count and individual factors.

PRP, HA, corticosteroids and NSAIDs in knee osteoarthritis

The cohort study compared pain and function after four approaches in grade 2–3 osteoarthritis. The authors emphasise the retrospective design and individual clinical judgement.

PRP or cortisone for rotator cuff tendon pathology

In 40 patients with chronic shoulder pain, ultrasound-guided PRP and cortisone injections were compared. Both groups improved in pain and function at one and two months; pain reduction at two months was greater in the PRP group.
